Southern Dining In searching for Southern Cuisine, one will come across items that are typically recognized as American, French, Cajun or a combination of all or some but there are those items on the Southern menu that are just plain southern and plain good! The types of food that can't properly be duplicated in a chain restaurant no matter how hard Popeye or the Colonel try, like batter fried, crispy and juicy fried chicken, or biscuits and gravy.
